Bio: Kesin Ommis was a Human male member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the early leg of the Galactic Civil War. A native of the galactic capital planet of Coruscant, Ommis joined the Rebellion about a year after the Battle of Yavin, serving as a skilled gunner on capital ships and starfighters. He served in the Battle of Hoth as the T-47 airspeeder tailgunner for Rogue Group pilot Derek "Hobbie" Klivian. (Stolen from Wookieepedia.)

Commentary: I had no idea who the Hell this guy was when I first saw the name. After some research, I discovered Kesin Ommis had a moustache, because for some reason I never noticed it. It seems more pronounced on the toy than in the movie. For years, fans have been begging Hasbro for an improved Hoth Rebel Pilot mold, and for more pilots in general. And they obliged, giving us this guy who nobody knows and by making Wes Janson an X-wing pilot instead. Oh well. The mold is a good one, as the figure is basically super-articulated. Rather than the white Hoth gloves, this guy has black pilot's gloves. He's also colored slightly differently than Wes Janson (who shares the mold).

As a pilot, it's important for him to sit, and he can basically pull it off. He can't sit at a 90-degree angle, but his legs can bend enough to fit inside the Snowspeeder. This is what matters. The figure looks great as a generic pilot, but he doesn't really seem to match the movie character too closely in the face department-- but whatever. I just want pilots to fill my ships, and he'll do just fine.

Collector's Notes: This figure was released on the same day as Wes Janson, both shared the same mold but had different heads and paint jobs. Hasbro seems to have developed these molds with a lot of reuse in mind, so with any luck we'll have a whole army of them in no time.
